He was predeceased by: his parents, Mikolaj Barniak and Maria Barniak (Sudyk); and his sister Katarzyna Szafran. He is survived by: his wife Cecylia Barniak (Sas); his children, Marek Barniak, Anna Humennyj (Roman) and Beata Howansky (Ihor); his grandchildren, Adrian (Michael Barniak), Deanna, Nicholas (Natalia Humennyj) and Julia (Emily Howansky); and his sister Anna Perun (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
