She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gernsky and Emily Gernsky; and her sister Eleanor Kordek. She is survived by: her spouse Chester Szurley; her children, Robert Szurley (Isabel Szurley) of Cromwell, Marianne Salerno (Daniel Salerno) of New Britain, Doreen Casey (Richard Casey) of Rocky Hill and Carolyn Race of Longmeadow Mass; her sisters, Doris Wojtera of New Britain, Agnes Hamilton of Margate Florida and Jeanne Bonici of Southington; and her grandchildren, Kayla Salerno, Dena Salerno, Alyssa Pollina (Casey), Erica Casey, Tyler Casey, Lauren Morse (Szurley), Emily Race and Jenna Race.
