Carmen Maldonado Obituary
Carmen Celina Madonado former resident of New Britain, CT. passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at her home, with her son by her side Sunday July 28, 2024. She battled Alzheimer's for the last 14 years. She was born in Jayua, PR October 15, 1943. She moved to Connecticut with her son from Puerto Rico in 1976 establishing herself in New Britain. She was a stay at home mom for 9 years, worked at local factories in New britain and Meriden until her retirement in 1996 due to a disability. She enjoyed going to church when she was abled, her deep catholic faith was instilled in her always. She is preceded in death by her mother Maria Torres, father Jose Maldonado, sister Aurea Maldonado, brothers Jose Maldonado JR, Norberto Rodriguez and Luis Diana. She survived by her sons Jesus M. Colon from Bristol, Adalberto Colon from Hartford and stepson Adrian Colon Gonzalez from Puerto Rico and daughter Carmen A. Cosme from Bristol. Grandsons Julio Pacheco Jr., Jose T. Soto, granddaughters Nayra Soto and Amalia Cosme, step grandchildren: Adrian R Colon Jr., Adrianis Colon, and Edrian Colon and Great granddaughters Vanessa and Mia Pacheco. She is also survived by a vast group and nephews & nieces. Special mention to her nieces Brenda and her husband Angel Hernandez and Arlene Arroyo.
The family would like to thank Raine for her unconditional support and help these last months. The staff at Compassus Home Care who helped us to take care of mom at her home to give her dignity towards the end of her life. Extended family from New York for their support, William Cruz, Nancy Arosemena and Maritza Cruz, among others.
Family and friends were invited to attend the viewing Saturday August 10, 2024 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at New Britain Memorial Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, Ct. Remains will be cremated.
