He is survived by: his children, Jose O. Gerena (Esmeralda), Lydia Rodriguez (Juan), Maria Gerena, Ruth Rodriguez (Miguel) and Mariluz Gerena (Anthony Ramos). He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
