He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Warden and Hazel Warden. He is survived by: his cousin Christine Marek; and his friends, Art, Sharon Hibler of Arizona, Richard, Robin Budzinovski of Naugatuck, Catherine Ernsky, Rose G. William and Big Y.

He attended Mattatuck Community College and assisted other students attending college with monetary donations. Jay worked at Remington Arms and Devereux Foundation School until his retirement.
