She was predeceased by: her husband Edward E. Karkoski (Kolakowski); her parents, David Heaphy and Mary Heaphy (Yankowski); her sisters, Jean Fitol (Henry), Patricia Cornford (Heaphy-Caron) and Donna Anroman (John); and her son Marc J. Karkoski.
She is survived by: her children, Edward M. Karkoski (Carol) of Seymour, Maida Karkoski-Giaimo of Myrtle Beach, SC and Alicia M. Valente (Joe) of Naugatuck; and her grandchildren, Michael A. Karkoski (Tevis) of Orlando, FL, Robert J. "R. J." Karkoski of Seymour and Jessica N. Karkoski of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Assumption.
