Verna Souter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Verna Souter in Mystic, Connecticut, born in Garfield, New Jersey, who passed away on November 1, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Maitland and Virginia Maitland (Knichel); her husband Wilbur Alwin Souter; her grandson David G. Souter; and her siblings, Donald Maitland, Robert Maitland III, David Maitland and Carolyn MacDonna.
She is survived by: her children, Geoffrey A. Souter (JoAnne) of Chester, David R. Souter (Patricia) of Charlestown, RI., Laurie Alfieri (Richard Harens) of Mystic and Lisa Wheeler (Douglas) of Mystic; and her grandchildren, Margeaux Podaski (Jarrett), Meghan Lusk (Zachary), Adam Wheeler (Hillary), Nathan Wheeler (Heather) and Hannah Harens. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
