He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Zeta Mae Montgomery (Cambell) and Sydney Earl Montgomery of Kansas City; his wife Elizabeth "Barbara" Riggs Montgomery; his brother Bob; his children, Katherine Archambault (Sean), Benjamin Montovan (Sarita Chourey) and Margaret Montovan (Katie); and his grandchildren, Sydney, Annie Archambault and Theodore "Tate" Montovan.

Memorial donations in Monk's memory may be made to New London Community Meal Center, where he frequently volunteered.
