He is survived by: his wife Mary Lue (Apicelli); his children, Richard Jr. (Caroline) of Stonington, James (Suzanne) of Whitefish, Joann (Turner Donnel) of Groton, Mary Beth (James Erickson) of Gales Ferry and Sandra (Fred Pisarz) of Groton; his grandchildren, Richard III, Benjamin, Megan Rose, Destiny Chapman, Andrew, Wesley, Laura, Jeffrey Chapman, Timothy, Jessica, Emily, Michael Donnel, Xavier and Isaiah Pisarz; his great grandchildren, James Biele, Hailey Johnson and Amelie Chapman; his sister Joann Apicelli; his sister-in-law Linda Apicelli; his nephews, Jay, David, Timothy Apicelli and Wayne Chapman; and his niece Erin Apicelli.
