He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Joseph Macary and Janet Macary (Breece); and his nephews, Richard Macary Jr. and Joseph Prout. He is survived by: his wife Christina Macary (Melninkas); his children, Daniel Macary (Stephanie Vadnais), Chelsea Macary (Christopher Urbas) and Amber Macary; his stepdaughter Monica Morgan (Wilkas); his brothers, Paul (Bridget), Richard (Jean), Matthew (Laura), Andrew (Sandy) and Patrick (Stephanie); his stepfather Louis Federico; his grandchildren, Tyler and Emme; and his nieces and nephews, Alana, Kyle, Sara, Joe, Lauren, Tyler, Ayla, Peighton, Jason, Justin, Paul, David and Tim. He is also survived by many cousins, second cousins, close friends and extended family.

To honor Peter's memory and in lieu of flowers, contributions to myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) research through the Hematology Program Fund at Smilow Cancer Hospital would be greatly appreciated by his family.

Stan DeMayo wrote a sympathy message

“I want to express my very sincere condolences to Paul ,Rich, Matt and Andy. Peter is already in my prayers. You all gave me the best years of your life at WHS. All except Matt and Andy they escaped our torment. I really wish I could go back in time you were all the greatest. I am sorry that I can't be there tonight wish there was some way to see you guys again. Tell me is Matt still the biggest of you?”
