He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Fontaine and Anna Fontaine (Marchesseault); his wife Rachel E Matteau; his son-in-law Kenny Paquin; his close friend Rod Marion; and his significant other Rachel Fontaine (Matteau).
He is survived by: his children, Joel Fontaine, Gerard Fontaine, Lisa Wells (Charles), Cindy Hart (Thomas) and Lynn Paquin (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan Labbe, CJ Wells, Ryan, Megan, Jeremey Hart, Brendon, Daren, Madison and Sadie Paquin; his great grandchildren, Brantley, Jaxton, Kynleigh, Jameson and Kambell; and his sister Annette Fontaine.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home (595 Norwich Rd, Plainfield, CT 06374). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the St John the Apostle Church (10 Railroad Ave, Plainfield, CT 06374).
