It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Messmer of Moodus, Connecticut, born in Southington, Connecticut, who passed away on January 19, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Messmer and Bertha Messmer (Bennett); his wife Ethel Mann; and his daughter Donna Marcy Cerniglia. He is survived by: his daughters, Dawne Fritz (Douglas Lundberg) of Fruitland Park, FL and Lindy Kwasowski (Greg) of Moodus; his sisters, Shirley Mackenzie of Tampa, FL and Barbara Coulteri (Joseph) of Falmouth, MA; and his grandchildren, Edward Fritz, Paul Kwasowski, Heather Kwasowski and Krystal Lundberg.
Walk through calling hours utilizing face covering and social distancing will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 4-6 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester. Burial will be private in the South End Cemetery in Southington.
