She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Akehurst and Hazel Akehurst (Carrick); her husband Robert E. Shanahan Jr.; her son Patrick Shanahan; and her siblings, Rosalyn Day and Tilden Akehurst.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Shanahan III (Leah), Michael Shanahan (Dorothea), Linda Podos (Brandon) and Timothy Shanahan (Donna); her daughter-in-law Kathleen Shanahan; her grandchildren, Bryan Shanahan, Megan Brown, Matthew, Brendan Shanahan, Briana Vincent, Rachel Podos and Rebecca Wiley; and her great grandchildren, Madeline Shanahan, Liam Shanahan, Asher, Anya Wiley, Samantha, Alexandra Vincent, Owen and Mackenzie Shanahan.
