He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Sharon Gilbert (Norman), Thomas (Virginia Mitchell) and Christopher (Robin); his grandchildren, Heather Demorizi (Kristopher), Eric Gilbert, Emma Slopnick and William Slopnick; his sister Arlene Gerry; his nieces and nephews, Susan Cholewinski Hamlin, Colleen Gerry Lepley, Victor Cholewinski and Scott Slopnick; his sister Florence Cholewinski (Hank); his nephew Wayne; his brother David Slopnick; and also David Jr..

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation.
