He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Merrill and Elizabeth Mosley Merrill; and his siblings, Robert Merrill and Linda Thennes. He is survived by: his children, Denise Merrill, Gene S. Bergmark Jr. and Sean P. Merrill; his grandchildren, Austin Weiss and Autumn Merrill; his pet Dash; and his brothers, John Merrill (Lottie) of Florida and Peter Merrill (Judy) of North Haven. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
