He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Swanson and Harriet Swanson; his son James Swanson; and his siblings, Edward Swanson, Patricia Malinosky, Evelyn Ducharme, Elizabeth Wahl and Elaine Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" Swanson; his friends, Ron and Barbara Wardlow; and his nephew Carl Malinosky (Sharon).
