He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Bartow and Janet Bartow (Smith) of Monroe; and his siblings, Bruce Bartow and Connie Zombar. He is survived by: his wife Carol Bartow (Frandsen); his children, Corinne Mercaldi (James) and Jeremy Bartow (Brittany); his grandchildren, Marshall, Lucy, Daxton, Warren and Griffin; his brother Bill Bartow (Sue); his sister-in-law Sue Strelez (Mike); his nieces, Virginia Garms (Bill) and Amanda Bartow; his nephew Mike (Donna); and his cousins, Ed Loveland, Susan Cragin, Wendy Lovallo, Laurie Loveland, Sandy and Alan Peevers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Milford Firefighters Toys for Tots, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or the Connecticut Humane Society.
