He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank J. Melanson and Lea Melanson (Lagasse); his grandson Nathan Shatsoff; and his siblings, Roland Melanson, Leatrice Liposky, Lucille Melanson, Romeo Melanson, Mary Ann DellaRocco and Norman Melanson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Melanson (Higgins) of Milford; his children, Mary Melanson Catuogno (Joe) of Norwalk, Patricia C. Shatsoff (Larry) of Belmont, NC, Frank R. Melanson, Jr. (Anita) of Orange and James J. Melanson of Milford; his grandchildren, Rebecca Heinig (Erik), Ben Shatsoff (Kaki) and Stephanie Melanson of Orange; and his great grandchildren, Liam and Hunter.
