He was predeceased by: his spouse Rita Sutton (Troiano); his parent Charles E.; and his brother Edward. He is survived by: his parent Eve Sutton Sr (Gouin); his daughters, Tracey Donegan (Michael), Colleen Porter (Richard) and Kim Sutton; his grandchildren, Erin Charles, Sarah Donegan Charles, Connor O'Dowd and Derek O'Dowd; his great grandchildren, Deklin O'Dowd and Mason O'Dowd; his sister Laura Sutton; and his stepgrandson Matthew Porter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
