He was predeceased by: his wife Ana Shippee (Lopez Cruz); his stepfather Edward Osowski; his son Oscar Shippee (Renee); his brother Edward Osowski; and his parents, Giles Roy Shippee and Emma Leah Osowski (Hamilton).

He is survived by: his children, Roy Shippee Lopez (Suzanne) of Middletown and Ana Ellington of East Haven; his sisters, Leah Geer of Phoenix and Theresa Falvey (James) of Plainfield; his grandchildren, Stephen Ellington (Lynn), Maria Ellington, Ashley Shippee (Adam), Antonio Shippee Lopez, Kelly Ferrara (Jesse) and Kevin Richards; and his great grandchildren, Isaias, Hudson, Roland and Hayden. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
