Lynda Theresa McCarthy Obituary

Lynda Theresa (Kasper) McCarthy, 79, of Middletown and Venice, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was born in the Bronx, New York on May 24, 1943, to the late Joseph and Isabel Kasper. After an idyllic childhood spent in the Edgewater Park community of the Bronx, she moved to Connecticut. There she met her beloved, late husband Robert (Bob) McCarthy. Lynda and Bob raised their family in Northford, CT., where Lynda was a homemaker and later as her kids went to school was employed by Choate School in Wallingford.
Lynda leaves to treasure her memory, a daughter, Marybeth (Christopher) Bonsignore of Middletown, CT, and a son, Robert McCarthy, Jr. (Lisa Panza) of East Haven, CT. She cherished her four grandchildren, who affectionately called her Bee: Emily and Jack Doherty and Ava Bonsignore, and Devin McCarthy. Lynda is also survived by her much beloved sister, confidant and best friend Barbara Hellthaler (the late Raymond). Lynda was predeceased by her brother Joseph Kasper (Lori), as well as her brother-in-law Jeremiah McCarthy (Sandra). She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and very dear friends both in CT., and Venice, FL.
Lynda was full of life and liked to be “on the go.” She loved playing games whether it be cards with the girls on the Circle or bingo, anywhere! And she was very lucky, much to her fellow bingo players’ chagrin! Above all else, Lynda loved being with her family and was cherished by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at the Village at Mariner’s Point, East Haven for their loving friendship and care of Lynda during the past year.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Lynda’s family on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 5:OOPM to 7:00PM at D’Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:30AM at Saint Pius X Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown, CT 06457. Burial will be a private ceremony at a future date.
