She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hendricks and Patricia Hendricks (Tanner); her husband Robert C. Alston; her siblings, Theodore Hendricks, Leroy Williams, Loretta Williams, Sheanette Osborn and Elaine Mabery; her nephews, Guy Bacote, Todd Bacote and Terrance Williams; and her great grandchild Joel Collins.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Collins (James Sr.) of Hartford, Rodney Alston Sr. (Ellen) of Wallingford, Semina Alston (Kenneth) of Wallingford, Amanda Williams (Syr Jeremy) of New Britain and Johnny Moore of Washington, D. C.; her brother Richard Medlock of Waterbury; her grandchildren, James Jr., Alex, Cassandra, Keenan, Rodney Jr., Krista, Jovon, Elijah, Marcus, Tiffany, Stephanie, Michael, Jay J., Bella, Lea and Monte; her goddaughter Shana Wellman; her niece Cheryl Raye; and her friend Arlise Rikard. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N Main Street Ext, Wallingford, CT 06492). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the State Veterans' Cemetery (317 Bow Ln, Middletown, CT 06457).
