He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kieft Sr. and Helene Kieft (Boule); and his daughter Jeannine Kieft. He is survived by: his wife Alene Kieft (Lentini); his daughter Jacqueline Cartelli (Douglas) of Old Saybrook; his grandchildren, Gregg, Dominic and Paris Cartelli; his great grandchildren, Vincent and Angelina; his sister Jeannine Lis; his brother-in-law Al Lis; and his nephews, Justin Lis (Michelle) and Dalton John. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
