He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shortt and Dorothy Shortt (Perro). He is survived by: his wife Dolores Shortt (Daloisio); his daughters, Amanda Gurzynski (US Navy Lieutenant) and Katia M. Shortt (Robert Nagy) of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Emma, Abigail and Jack Gurzynski of Middlebury; his siblings, Mary Stevenson (Matthew) of Thomaston, Patricia Ceritello (Kevin) of Bristol, Thomas Shortt (Kathy) of Garner, NC and Robert Shortt (Linda) of Milford; and his brother-in-law Dr. Tony Daloisio (Teresa) of Washington Depot. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Chase Parkway Memorial (430 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (74 W Main St, Waterbury, CT 06702). A burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Calvary Cemetery (2324 E Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705).
