She was predeceased by: her parents, Maud Galvin and John Fitzgerald Kelly; her former husband Francis M. McDonald; and her siblings-in-law, Jane Ferris McDonald, Jane Kerrigan McDonald, Elise Edholm McDonald, Barbara Brucato McDonald, Eileen McCarthy McDonald, Daniel McDonald, James McDonald and Paul McDonald.

She is survived by: her husband Frank; her children, Michael McDonald (Deirdre) of Middlebury, Mary Ann Carolan (James) of Woodbridge and John McDonald (Stephanie) of Woodbury; her grandchildren, Maria Carolan, Anna Carolan, Erin McDonald, Brittany McDonald, Lindsey McDonald, Sam McDonald and Ellie McDonald; her cousin Ellen Kelly Reisman; and her siblings-in-law, John McDonald, Vincent McDonald and Julie McDonald. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Mattatuck Museum (63 Prospect Street, Waterbury, CT 06702) on whose board she served for many years.
