He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paolo DeRiu and Giuseppina Pinna; his wife Barbara DeRiu (DelVecchio); his daughters, Lisa DeRiu and Deighna DeRiu (Michael Crowley); his grandchildren, Milo of Middlebury and Phoebe DeRiu-Crowley of Middlebury; his siblings, Paolo DeRiu of Waterbury, Tonino DeRiu (Francesca) of Waterbury and Mariuccia DeRiu of Pozzomaggiore; his sisters-in-law, Gilda DeRiu of Bradenton, FL and Melinda DeMaio of North Haven; his brother Pinuccio DeRiu; and his brothers-in-law, Nicolino Calaresu and Pasquale DeMaio.
