He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Golas and Lottie Golas (Patsy); and his siblings, Leonard, Edward Golas and Maryanne Golas.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Golas (Gagne); his children, Darlene Schmidt (Timothy) of Wallingford, CT, Karen Vitale (Richard) of Vail, Arizona and Peter Golas Jr. of Meriden, CT.; his grandchildren, Britian Vitale, Nicholas Szestakow of Higganum, CT, Richard, Sophia Vitale of Waterford, CT, Jade Vitale of Vail, Arizona, Lindsay Viarengo (Frank) of Wallingford, CT and Rachel Galarza (Kevin) of Meriden, CT.; his great grandchildren, Teagan Viarengo, Gennaro, Ophelia Vitale, Cole and Nicholas Szestakow; and his brother David Golas (Judy) of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
