He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick N. Steinbeck, Sr. and Anna Steinbeck (Majeski); his stepmother Vera MacDonald Steinbeck; and his sisters, RoseMary Olschefski and Elizabeth Ann Steinbeck.
He is survived by: his brother Frederick N. Steinbeck, Jr. (Barbara); his stepsiblings, Arnold MacDonald and Beatrice Morin; and his nieces and nephews, Sheryl Fritz (Dave Boufard), Amy O'Donnell, Heidi Boyd, Gary Steinbeck (Tina), Karl Olschefski (Terry McBrien) and Eric Steinbeck (Donna).
