With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Victoria Filipek (Meriden, Connecticut), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 7, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Winton S. Filipek; her parents, Victoria Walka and John Walka; her grandson Brad Scalzi; her siblings, Anne Griener and Tony Walka; and her son-in-law Francis P. Scalzi (Biff).
She is survived by: her children, Patricia (David Kirouac), Kathleen Scalzi (Kathy), Nancy Filipek, Winton (Margaret Filipek) and David Filipek; her grandchildren, Michael Filipek (Monika Filipek), Lynn (Eric Parente), Paul Scalzi and Ashley Kirouac (Kevin Fitzgibbon); and her great grandchildren, Luke, Nathalie Filipek, Zachary and Benjamin Parente.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home (88 E Main St, Meriden, CT 06450). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the John J. Ferry & Sons, Inc. (88 E Main St, Meriden, CT 06450).
