Linda Meredith Downing Knopf Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Meredith Downing Knopf of Masons Island, Connecticut, born in New York, New York, who passed away on July 5, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Downing and Lester Downing. She is survived by: her boyfriend Oliver Wilson; her son Peter Knopf (Mary); her sisters, Barbara Blake and Carol Ljostad (Ed Ljostad); and her children, Leslie Knopf, Wendy Russell (William), Bernice Wilson, Lauren Russell, Kyle Wilson and Ian Wilson. She is also survived by her partner's daughter, daughter-in-law.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider instead a memorial contribution in Linda's name to the YWCA of Greenwich for its ongoing Domestic Abuse Services, now known as the Harmony Project (ywcagreenwich.org/what-we-do/domestic-abuse-services-for-victims) or the Mystic Woman's Club (PO Box 632 Mystic 06355) in support of their Phelps Scholarship Fund.
