He was predeceased by: his wife Essie Harris; his parents, Percy Harris and Julia Harris; and his sisters, Fannie Dixon (Connie), Lucille Moss and Emma Dupree.
He is survived by: his daughter Leslie Black; his son-in-law Joseph Black; his grandchildren, Michael Black (Kedine) and Danielle Black; and his great grandchildren, McKenzie Black and Zuri Black.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Clear View Baptist Church of Newark (314 Hobson St, Newark, NJ 07112). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
