He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Olinyk (Jegust); his parents, Ivan Olinyk and Sofia Olinyk; and his daughter Vera Skelton. He is survived by: his daughter Andrea Olinyk-Given of Broad Brook; his grandchildren, Robin Skelton, Lucy Skelton, Ryan Skelton, Meghan Given of Enfield and Emily Given of Broad Brook; and his great grandchildren, Isobel and Zachary Skelton.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home (419 Buckland Rd, South Windsor, CT 06074). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery (1458 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
