She was predeceased by: her parents, William Saaranen and Hilja Saaranen (Malaska); her husband Richard F. Hannaford; her siblings, Mildred Aho, Helmi Seppa and Doug Saaranen; her sister-in-law Sharon Hannaford Bourke; and her caregivers, Judy, Alicia and Camille.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Hannaford of Deming, Viola McNickle of Moosup, CT and Alan Hannaford (Linda Cambareri) of Ellington, CT; her sister Anita; her siblings-in-law, Donald Evans of Mansfield, CT, Michael Hannaford (Melanie) of Windsor Locks and Kristen Hannaford Baker of Windsor Locks; her grandchildren, Tim Rood (Amanda) of Kennebunk, Dawn Rood (Detlef Windgasse) of Germany and Clarissa Diggins of Tilton; and her great grandchildren, Saskia, Rika, Carson and Natalie. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Vernon United Methodist Church (401 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT 06066). A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (41 Elm Hill Rd, Vernon, CT 06066).
