Vito Piscitelli Obituary

VITO PISCITELLI, age 87, of Madison, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his home in Madison surrounded by his family.
Vito was born in Brooklyn, NY of parents Nicola and Cristina, immigrants from Giovinazzo, Italy. He is predeceased by two older brothers, Ralph and Nick. He was educated in Catholic schools in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Niagara University. He then entered the military, where he eventually retired with the rank of Major USAR, and started his long career in finance with IBM.

He was married for almost 50 years to his loving wife, Irene, who predeceased him in 2006. Together they had five children, Vicki (married to Jeff Morrow), Bonnie (married to Matt Potter), John, Cristina (married to Steve Miller) and Colette (married to Chris Sovak). He had 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; Christopher, Annie, Jillian Irene (predeceased in 1991), Michelle, Gregory, Sophie, Julia, Stephen, Tom, Connor, Maggie, Jack and great grandchild, Molly.

Vito was a family man with deep faith and traditional values; always ensuring holidays were full of love, laughter, music and fun. His admiration of music was a core pillar of his life, especially opera, which he shared with his Father, Nicola and brother, Ralph. He sang opera in the glee club in college and he shared his talented voice at many key family events. In addition to his love of family, faith and music, Vito was also a successful financier. His long business career was spent as a finance executive in IBM’s European Operations, primarily in France. Vito and the family enjoyed many adventures while living abroad, visiting many wonderful places, experiencing different cultures and cuisine and making memories that will last a lifetime. Vito had an adventurous spirit and loved to explore the world. He loved to learn anything new and continued to seek out new experiences throughout his life. Vito’s love of family, friends, adventure, music, and faith will be remembered by all who loved him.

Visitation for Vito will be held on Monday, June 26 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street #2401, Guilford, CT followed by Funeral services at St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy St., Madison, CT. His remains will be interred at a later date next to his wife at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
