He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick P. and Mary A. Murphy; his wife Pauline Cairns; his children, Elizabeth Brown (Jeffrey) of Boston, Sandy (Nancy Aronoff) of Fairfield and Tom (Jennifer Russo) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Harrison, Griffin, Cordelia and Laurel Murphy of Fairfield; his sisters, Nancy Byxbee, Mary Lou Stephanak, Eleanor Workman (Joseph) and Emma Jane Burns; and his brother-in-law Robert Cairns (Nancy). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
