It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles E. Gertsch Jr. of Madison, Connecticut, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Charles E. shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Charles E. farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Gertsch, Sr. and Dorothy M. Gertsch (Thiede); and his son James Gertsch. He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Gertsch (Goodrich); his children, Debbie Reilly (Frank) of East Haven and John Gertsch (Elizabeth) of Salisbury, Maryland; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gertsch and Russell Gertsch; and his siblings, Dorothy Schlauch, Edward, Paul and William Gertsch.
The military honors will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Beaverdale Memorial Park-Section (90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven, CT 06515).
