We bid farewell to Robert N. Matthews Jr. of Litchfield, Connecticut, born in Bristol, Connecticut, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 27, 2024 at the age of 82. Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert N. Sr. Matthews and Genevieve Matthews (Wells); and his siblings, Genevieve Blaschke, Mary Lee Matthews, Laura Matthews, Susan Shamper, Cindy Doughterty, Arthur and Edward.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Matthews (Remsen); his children, Robin Matthews (Kevin MacKinnon), Catherine Gill (Allan), Jenny Matthews and Robert N. Matthews III; his siblings, Charles (Ann), Paul (Janice), John (Eloise), Michael, William, Norman (Cindy), Don (Ann Marie), June Matthews (Lessard) and Joan Dufresne (Dennis); and his grandchildren, Robert N. Matthews, IV (Buckeroo) and Alana Budrewicz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Northfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Northfield Volunteer Fire Depart.
