“Too often, someone passes and you are doubly sad, for not having spoken to your departed friend for some time. I was lucky. Peter came to see me in my Manhattan gallery on his last birthday. He had Parkinson's, was stooped and sometimes in pain. Nonetheless, he was the same dealer he'd d been for 70 years; when he could raise his head, you saw the same familiar twinkle in the eyes.
