He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Downs and Marion Downs (O'Connor); and his sister Marion Garafolo. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Downs (Belasco); his children, James E. Downs (Karen) of Torrington, Robert Garafalo (Wendy) of Carlsbad, CA, Denee Longley (Russ) of Litchfield, CT and Keri Hoffer (John) of New Preston, CT; and his brother Robert Downs (Marlene) of Torrington, CT. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (82 Litchfield St, Torrington, CT 06790). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
