“I have so many memories of Brian. I have had the pleasure of knowing him for the last almost 25 years of my life. Being close friends with Thaxton growing up, living down the road and even working with him for 2 years allowed me to get to know Brian quite well. He was a great man, selfless and always smiling and making me laugh whenever I saw him. When I had 2 different surgeries and hospital stays nearly 15 years apart he was my first visitor both times. He would go out of his way to follow me home from work during snow storms to make sure I made it home safely even if he wasn’t working with me that evening. He was just a great guy and Thaxton shared a lot of his great qualities. Even after all of the shenanigans I used to pull with him by leaving random road closure signs, blinking orange construction barrels and even a news paper box at the top of his driveway he still always liked me for some reason. I am thankful for all of the great memories and laughs that he gave me and I always loved hearing his navy stories. I will miss periodic phone calls from him just to chat as well. He will be missed deeply. - Matt LaFlash”
