He was predeceased by: his wife Angeline Marie Butera (Larco); his brother Carmelo Joseph "Joe" Butera; his siblings-in-law, Bernard Larco, Michael Larco, Felix Larco, Pasquale Vaccariello, Joseph Cefaratti, Marguerite Mary Butera (Scalise), Edith Vaccariello, Francis Larco and Catherine Debenian; and his nephew Frank Cefaratti.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah; his son-in-law William Barker; his daughter Diane; his son-in-law Frederick Pindar; his son Matthew Butera Jr. (Janet Milardo); his grandchildren, Kristie (Justin Seeger), Kimberly (Daniel Matthews), Allison (Michael Pinto), Matthew Pindar (Lindsey) and Michael Pindar; and his sister-in-law Adeline Cefaratti. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home (111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin, CT 06037). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St Paul Church (485 Alling St, Berlin, CT 06037). A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the St. Mary Cemetery (1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06051).
Memorial donations may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
