Karen Myott Sedgwick Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 31, 2025, at the age of 68, Karen Myott Sedgwick of Jewett City, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Karen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Karen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Karen leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Victor and Blanche Mailhotte Sedgwick. She is survived by: her children, Stephen Pillari (Amber) and Allison Pillari; her grandchildren, Alena, Annabelle and Stephen; her siblings, Elizabeth Sedgwick Gray (Timothy) and Michael Sedgwick Sr. (Donna); her close friend Cindy Ezzell; and her pet Zipper. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home (490 Voluntown Rd, Griswold, CT 06351). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (34 N Main St, Jewett City, CT 06351). A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Marys Cemetery.
