He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Newton and Harold S. Newton; and his sister Shirley Heck. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Newton (Oliver); his sister Susan Voter; and his children, Ada Kores (Jim), Diane Saucier, Deborah Page and John Newton (Tracey). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
