He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert P. Porter and Viola I. Porter; his brother Gibson Porter; and his son Carter Porter. He is survived by: his sisters, Roberta DeGary and Virgina Hutchinson; his son Gary Porter; and his granddaughter Alexandra Day Porter.

“I am writing this the day before Milton Porter would celebrate his centenary birthday. My brother, his wife and I traveled to Washington DC with Milton and other veterans of the 568th Anti Aircraft Battalion, which we attended in honor of our father who had recently passed. Milton organized an amazing experience, and we stayed in touch for many years thereafter, benefitting from his life story and optimism. Rest in peace, sir.”
