Peter L. Ahlers Obituary
Peter L Ahlers, 70, of Magnolia MA fiancé of Linda Parco passed away in loving arms peacefully on Sunday July 2, 2023, in his home. He was born on July 15, 1952, son of the late Eugene and Charlotte (Garcia) Ahlers.
Until he was 9 years old Pete lived in Harwinton, CT in the Connecticut Valley. From there his family relocated to Baldwinville, MA where he mostly lived until his move to Magnolia.
Pete was a graduate of Narragansett Regional High School and Mount Wachusett College.
He held many jobs before settling into carpentry. He was a self-employed general contractor until life handed him a forced early retirement. Pete loved his work and was very proud of the many homes he built, including his own.
He was a member of the Magnolia Lions for many years where he held several offices.
Pete loved it all from the woods and streams of his childhood to the ocean as an adult. He always had a boat in which you would see him fishing for stripers or scuba diving with his friends in the waters off Magnolia. Pete had a great love for music, the louder the better, and played in bands in his younger years. He also had a love of fast cars. The summer before his health declined, he had, as he said, the thrill of a lifetime driving a Nascar at New England Speedway. Pete had many adventures throughout his life and many stories to tell.
Pete is survived by his fiancé Linda Parco of Magnolia; daughters Kelsey Ahlers of Gloucester and Jennifer Ahlers of Magnolia; his former wife Patricia Ahlers of Magnolia; sister Patricia Tourigny of NC; brothers Gene Ahlers of CT, Glenn Ahlers and his wife Alicia of KY; brother-in-law Stan Paliulis of Athol; Linda's children Nicholas Parco, Jeffrey Parco and his wife Abigail and Abbey Parco all of Gloucester and special granddaughter Cecilia Parco; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister Lori Paliulis.
In keeping with his wishes Pete will be brought back to the valley and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in his honor to Magnolia Lions C/O James Fialho, 1 Lexington Avenue, Magnolia.
