He was predeceased by: his wife Grace Williams. He is survived by: his children, James L. Bement Jr. (Karen), Denise B. Horn (Martin) and Michelle B. Skibesky (William). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
