He was predeceased by: his parents, Helene Zimmer (Gartner) and Stanley Zimmer; and his brothers, Erhard and Edward Zimmer. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Zimmer (Weichholz); and his daughter Cara Zimmer Hauser.
