It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Florence Gant of Hartford, Connecticut, born in Americus, Georgia, who passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert King and Eliza Ross King; her children, Helen Green, Larry Gant, Onita Chambers and Patricia Gant; her husband James Homer Gant; her sisters, Doris King Dodson, Louise King Griffin, Minnie King Starks, Geraldine King Johnson and Dorothy King Worldly; and her children, Mary Ferguson of Bloomfield, James Gant (Sonny) of Hartford, Pearl Dukes (Nathaniel) of Bloomfield and Derek Green (Julie) of South Windsor. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, and a host of dear friends.
