He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley D. Johnson, Sr. and Laura Johnson (Darden); his grandson Andre E. James, Jr.; and his son-in-law Christopher Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Cerise Johnson; his daughter Tracey Stanley; his grandchildren, Trey, Reba, Troy, Vaneece, Ebony, Joseph, Riley IV, Ryan, Justice, Adan, Solana, Ronin, Sean Jr., Shaiellis, Saje, Shayelis, Selina and Nicola; his great grandchildren, Troy, Milan, Cali, Jayden, Jayla, King-Bless, Kashya, Nessiah and Ny'lah; his siblings, Carole Hogan, Barbara Ragland, Elnora Cooke, Howard Johnson and Donald Chafin (Brenda); and his friends, Lew Brown, Roosevelt Terry, Robert Countryman and Lee Martin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Faith Congregational Church or a local Parkinson's Foundation.
