It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rene Ann Engel of Hartford, Connecticut, born in Manistique, Michigan, who passed away on December 22, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Merrill Archey and Lillian Faye Archey (Smith); her husband William R. Engel (Bill); and her siblings-in-law, Xenophon and Harriet Nichols.
She is survived by: her brother-in-law Michael Farley; her siblings, Laurel Glenn, Janet Wild (Dean), Linda Canon (Mike), Charles Archey (Kathy) and Kathryn Wild (Joseph); her siblings-in-law, Wendy Spector (Michael), Amy Farley (Michael) and Roger Engel; her nieces and nephews, Marie Van Horn (Russell), Jesse Glenn (Tomoko), Ann Carlson (Adam), Benjamin Luxford (Laura), Alicia Moore (Robert), Nicholas Benedetto, Lindsay Chadrick (Kraig), Marisa Paruch (Ryan), Andrew Archey, Jamie Bent (Michael), Sammie Spector, Sydney Spector, Samantha Farley Hennessey, Victoria Farley and Tyler Farley; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Eulalia, Bixby Carlson, Lillian "Lily", Lucas Luxford, Peyton, Levi Moore, Sawyer, Ellie Chadrick, Will Paruch, Olivia, Annabelle and Abigail Bent.
She was an advocate of yoga and the benefits of therapeutic massage and never missed the twice weekly yoga sessions with friends, even during the Covid epidemic when it became 'Zoom Yoga'.
